VANCOUVER, Wash. — An officer has been shot and a man has barricaded himself inside a home in southeast Vancouver.
Kim Kapp with the Vancouver Police Department says the incident began around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday when officers went to the home where a man was wanted for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and a stolen firearm.
One woman came out of the house, but investigators believe another man is being held inside.
A SWAT team and hostage negotiators have been called to the scene.
Details were not immediately available on the injured officer.
The area is not far from Mountain View High School. Residents in the area are being told to stay inside their homes.
