SULTAN – A train collided with a minivan Saturday night leaving one woman dead and a man seriously injured at a Seattle hospital.
The collision happened about 7:35 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth Street and U.S. 2 in Sultan, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The woman, in her 20s, died at the scene. The man, 18, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries, Hover said.
Both people were in the minivan when the collision happened. It is unclear which one was driving.
The collision is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway.
