EVERETT — Everett police are investigating a stabbing that left one woman wounded Monday morning in Everett.
At around 1:30 a.m. Monday, Everett police responded to reports of a stabbing at Compass Health’s Andy’s Place apartments at 3301 Lombard Ave. in Everett. When they arrived, they found a woman in her 60s who had been stabbed.
The victim allegedly hit the suspect on the head twice with a stick, a probable cause statement said. According to a witness statement quoted in the report, the suspect allegedly said, “She hit me with a bat, so I stabbed her.”
The victim sustained injuries to her left side, right ring finger and right forearm, the report said. Medics transported the victim to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
A man in his 60s was booked on suspicion of assault, according to Everett Police Department Public Information Officer Natalie Given.
