SPANAWAY — One person was shot and injured at a Pierce County fundraiser for cancer victims.
The News Tribune reported a dispute broke out at Uncle Sam’s American Bar and Grill during a cancer fundraiser organized by a local motorcycle club. The victim was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the victim belonged to a motorcycle club called the Bandidos, which participates in events for an umbrella fundraising group called Bikers Fighting Cancer. The shooter came from another club called Ghostriders.
The person in custody reportedly shot the victim with a high-caliber handgun sometime after 8 p.m. Other people at the event reportedly assaulted the shooter and took his gun away.
