Clean: City plans annual cleanup day

The city of Snohomish plans an annual cleanup-day event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 26.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 402 2nd St. Snohomish.

The Lions Club will provide a free hotdog lunch for volunteers fr

om 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bring shovels and hand tools. Dress for the weather.

Sing: Everett studio to offer workshop

3231 Creatives, a cooperative artist’s space in Everett, plans an event called the Songwriter’s Studio at 11 a.m. starting March 26.

Aspiring or current songwriters can learn the difference between a good song and a hit song. The workshop will be taught by Don Joseph, a singer, songwriter and publisher.

The studio is at 3231 Broadway Ave., Everett.

Bid: High school auction, dinner

Lake Stevens High School plans a dinner and auction on March 26 at Lake Connor Park.

Purchase tickets at Jay’s Market, 1809 124th NE, Lake Stevens, or Team Fitness, 1109 Frontier Circle E. suite A, Lake Stevens. Prices are $15 per person, $75 for a table of six or $150 for a table of 12.

The event will help raise money for the high school’s seniors to attend an after-graduation, alcohol and drug free, all-night celebration.

All students can attend, scholarships are available.

The park is at 14320 28th St. NE, Lake Stevens.

The event will be catered with a Mexican meal.

The Salvation Army is seeking donations of slightly used items.

To have your donations picked up by the Salvation Army, call 800-SATRUCK.

Items sold in Salvation Army thrift stores are the sole source of funding for their Adult Rehabilitation Centers, a free program for people with addiction and other problems.

Work: Volunteer with visitor center

The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce and Regional Visitor Center seeks community members to volunteer as a travel ambassador, receptionist or administrative assistant.

Volunteers will fill in for others or be assigned weekly shifts at the visitor center.

Training will be provided.

Apply: Gardener scholarship offered

The Snohomish County Master Gardener Foundation offers $1,000 scholarships for students entering college with the intention of studying horticulture or a related field.

Each year, the state Master Gardener Foundation awards two scholarships with the same criteria. The winner of the Snohomish County scholarship will automatically have his or her application forwarded to the state.

The application must include a cover sheet, transcripts, an essay, at least two letters of recommendation and a summary of activities and service.

The deadline is April 1.
