Create: Kids can take part in craft club
The Latino Art Club meets every Saturday morning through the school year in Lynnwood and is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The club explores and creates a different traditional Latino art form each week.
This month, the club will work with papier–mâché crafts.
The Latino Art Club meets 10-11 a.m. Saturdays at the Lynnwood Senior Center, 19000 44th Ave. W.

Shop: Holiday market ends soon
The outdoor Edmonds Holiday Market wraps up its inaugural season Dec. 19. The specialty market is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays in the parking lot between City Hall and the Rusty Pelican on Fifth Avenue, just north of the fountain in downtown Edmonds.
Find specialty foods, wines, flowers, treats and entertainment, along with hot cocoa from the Edmonds Kiwanis Club — everything needed for merry-making.

Sing: Add your voice to ‘Messiah’
Enjoy a Handel’s “Messiah” Sing-Along and Festive Desserts event, 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 13 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett.
The event is back by demand after a successful first year in 2014. This is a no-pressure program with guest professional and community instrumentalists and soloists.
Suggested donation is $12. Scores are available, or bring your own. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and early arrival is recommended.

Help: Giving Startup gym a hand
GroWashington hosts Startups for Startup, a fundraiser, 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 18 at the nonprofit GroWashington shop, 923 Main St., Sultan.
Sample some Locust Cider from the local start-up brewery and take a chance on winning other locally produced items. Proceeds benefit restoration of the Historic Startup Gym.
The Sky Valley Arts Council is heading up the restoration project. Built in 1937 with the help of sawmill owner George Startup, who donated the wood, and community volunteers, the gym is to be repaired to its former glory. People who want to donate to the effort also can send a check to the Sky Valley Arts Council, PO Box 18, Sultan, WA 98294.

Dance: Join Black and White Ball
The Camano Center hosts its annual New Year’s Eve Black and White Ball on Dec. 31 with the 16-piece big band Camano Junction. Tickets are $25 and include snacks and a champagne toast. Cash bar. The Camano Center is at 606 Arrowhead Road.
