Volunteer: Work on Centennial Trail
The Snohomish Parks Foundation holds a Centennial Trail work party, 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday on the trail between Second and Third streets in Snohomish, rain or shine. Volunteers are welcomed to help remove dead plants, prune, pick up trash and whack weeds.
Volunteer for 30 minutes, an hour or longer. Bring your own gloves and gardening tools.

Respect: Exchange worn flags for free
McClain Insurance Services offers its annual flag exchange program, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. June 8-12 at 10410 19th Ave. SE, Everett. Retire worn U.S. flags and receive a new Stars and Stripes for free. Retired flags will be respectfully disposed of in a ceremony held by the Boy Scouts of America.

Solve: Sock hop murder mystery
The Stillaguamish Senior Center holds its annual murder mystery dinner, “Sock Hop Homicide: A Dance with Death,” 5 p.m. June 13 at 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Dressing in 1950s attire is optional. No-host bar.

Donate: Red Cross Giving Day a first
The American Red Cross is launching its first Giving Day on June 2, asking everyone in Snohomish County to make a donation to the Red Cross to help ensure that help is available wherever and whenever people need it.
Red Cross Giving Day is a 24-hour national fundraising campaign supporting the work of the Red Cross in communities across the country every day. The theme of Giving Day is “All In One Day” because the Red Cross is “all in” every day, helping people to get back on their feet.?
The Snohomish County Chapter of the Red Cross responds to an average of 120 disasters, large and small, every year.
“On June 2, we have 24 hours to turn compassion into action,” said Chuck Morrison, executive director of the Snohomish County Chapter of the Red Cross.
“On this one day, please donate to the Red Cross so we can be there to help people in need.”
