Save: Learn CPR in one fast lesson

The Lynnwood Fire Department holds five-minute “Sidewalk CPR” lessons in hands-only CPR, between 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday at the Alderwood mall food court. The mall is at 3000 184th St. SW, Lynnwood. The drop-in event is free, and all ages are welcome to participate.

Firefighters aim to show that anyone can help save a life. In fact, effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival.

DIY: Free fair highlights life skills

SnoCo Together, a community skills fair, is set for 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Middle School, 7621 Beverly Lane, Everett.

Learn about beekeeping, rabbits and chickens; car repair, garment repair and bike repair; fermenting and foraging; knitting and spinning; organic skin care and soap-making; gardening mistakes to avoid; and much more in a series of free do-it-yourself workshops.

Television personality Graham Kerr gives the kick-off speech at 10:30 a.m. Free child care is available, and there will be activities for kids. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is encouraged.

Volunteer: Lead a grief group

The Stillaguamish Senior Center is recruiting volunteers to lead both day and evening grief support groups. Hospice of Snohomish County provides training. The first training workshop is set for 1 p.m. April 17.

Learn: How to live with chronic conditions

Senior Services of Snohomish County offers two sessions this spring of the six-week “Living Well with Chronic Conditions” workshop. The workshops are free and include a handbook. Registration is required. Space is limited.

One group will meet 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, April 1-May 6, at the Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett, 3025 Lombard Ave. The other group will meet 9-11:30 a.m. Fridays, May 1-June 5, at The Everett Clinic, 3830 Hoyt Ave.

Participants will learn and practice skills to help manage their chronic health condition, such as how to make and accomplish a weekly goal; stress, pain and fatigue management; safe exercise; healthy eating; and handling difficult emotions.

Protect: Keeping digital data safe

Ever wondered what happens when you “delete” something from your smartphone? Would you like some tips on staying safe online and keeping out of the reach of hackers?

Edmonds Community College hosts a “Safe Computing in the Digital Age” event, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. March 28. Hear experts in their fields talk about cybersecurity, information security, high technology investigations, computer forensics and phone forensics.

The campus is at 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Admission is free but registration is required.
