Celebrate: Music, dance and more
A Celebrate Lynnwood festival is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and 5-10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW.
Daytime activities include family-friendly activities, music and dance performances, storytelling, a photo booth and more. Evening activities add a beer and wine garden, live music featuring Hey Marseilles, interactive art and more.
All events are free.

Help: New food bank seeks donations
The newly formed Cedar Valley Food Bank helps families get through the end of the month with bags of food and other donated supplies. The food bank operates out of Cedar Valley Community School, 19200 56th Ave. W., Lynnwood. The food bank first opened June 25 and opens again from 2:30-3 p.m. July 23 and Aug. 27.
Donations of food are sought. Drop off donations at the Edmonds School District Educational Services Center, 20420 68th Ave. W., in Lynnwood.
The food bank is a cooperative effort by Cedar Valley Community School’s Natural Leaders and Parent Student Organization and donations come from Maple Park Lutheran Church, Edmonds Unitarian Church, Cedar Valley Community School staff and the Lynnwood Farmers Market.
Work: Get help landing that first job
Workforce of Snohomish offers the My First Job Program, a 25-hour paid training week designed to teach professionalism, interview skills, customer service skills and more.
The program offers participants a 100-hour, paid job at a local business, links to a social network for ongoing inspiration, and connections to employers.
Applicants are required to be age 16 to 24 with no work experience, must demonstrate strong financial need and must have been affected in some capacity by the Oso mudslide. An application is required.

Donate: Arboretum seeks help to bloom
The final stage of the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens in Everett is under way with plans to develop the south end with gardens, walkways, a major art installation and seating.
Donors are invited to help the arboretum reach its goal through a gift of $250 or more. In appreciation, the donor’s name and a brief message will be engraved on a stainless steel oak leaf to be installed at the arboretum.
The gardens are located at American Legion Memorial Park, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett.

Apply: Island County post open
The Island County Board of Commissioners seeks a citizen member representative from County Commissioner District 3 to serve on the Law and Justice Council for a term that expires Feb. 28, 2015. The group meets for about one hour at noon on the fourth Wednesday of each month. This is a volunteer position.
Applicants must provide a letter of interest and statement of qualifications by 4:30 p.m. July 28.
