Ore. theft suspect hitches ride — straight to jail

SALEM, Ore. — Salem police say a man who ditched a stolen car found himself 30 minutes later in need of a ride. So, who did he ask for a lift? A plainclothes officer on a Salem street.

KATU-TV reports the police gave 31-year-old Lloyd Wright a ride straight to the station.

Police say they’d been looking for him because a patrol officer saw him Thursday night in a car that had been reported stolen, and then he fled on foot.
