CORVALLIS, Ore. — The last of about 175 alpacas that were found starving at a breeding operation in the Willamette Valley arrived Tuesday at Oregon State University.
Veterinary school doctors and students are nursing them back to health until they can be adopted.
Veterinary student Robyn Thompson told KVAL-TV they call it the “alpaca-lypse.”
The Polk County sheriff’s office stepped in last week after owners of Jocelyns’ Alpaca Ranch could not care for the animals. The owners are facing charges.
