The City Council has passed a change to the way businesses must renew their operating licenses.
Beginning in 2007, businesses will renew their licenses based on the date they originally applied for the license instead of renewing every December.
The change is meant to allow city employees to more easily manage the licensing process.
About 350 businesses operate within the current city limits, City Clerk Norma Scott said.
After the Frontier Village annexation is complete, city officials expect about 350 more businesses to apply for city licenses.
