Pottery sale, exhibit coming
The Sculptors’ Workshop presents its semi-annual Pottery Sale in its workshop area 2-8 p.m. May 12 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 13 at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St.
The potters of Sculptor’s Workshop have created pieces that represent a certain location in the world, either a specific geographical area or specific or general ideas and beliefs from different regions.

Charter review meeting set
The city of Everett’s Charter Review Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. May 8 at the Wall Street Building at 2930 Wetmore Ave. in Everett.
The committee is reviewing the city’s charter, a process that occurs once every ten years. The public is welcome to attend and speak to the committee on charter issues

Water resource panel to meet
The Water Resource Advisory Committee’s next monthly meeting is 3-5 p.m. Thursday at the Taylor Road Fire Station, 3440 Taylor Road, in Oak Harbor.
On the agenda is a discussion of low-impact development initiatives.

Lake Stevens
City board offers parks for adoption
The Lake Stevens Park Board is encouraging groups or individuals to participate in the city’s Adopt-a-Park program.
Participants are asked to remove litter at least four times a year for a two-year period. The city will provide safety vests, trash bags and will collect filled trash bags.

City Center on council agenda
The Lynnwood City Council will discuss zoning and developer fees for the City Center project at its work session Monday.

Marysville
Sons of Italy ready spaghetti dinner
The Marysville Sons of Italy, Mille Cugini Lodge No. 2659 offer its annual spaghetti dinner and raffle 1-6 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4400 88th St. NE.
Tickets cost $9 for adults, $4 for kids ages 4 to 10 and kids younger than 4 get in free.
Raffle tickets cost $1 or six for $5. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local charities, the Marysville Food Bank, the Marysville Fire Department, Marysville St. Vincent de Paul, Everett Women’s Shelter and the lodge scholarship fund.
Monroe
Ministry raises $3,500 for police
Matthew House, a nonprofit ministry to support prison inmates and their families, recently raised $3,500 with community members to help the Monroe Police Department buy dolls.
The department uses the dolls to comfort abused children. Linda Paz, executive director of Matthew House in Monroe, led the fundraising effort with her three grandchildren after hearing about the program from the police department.
Mukilteo
Open-mike night begins in May
An open-mike night for poets, musicians and other performance artists will begin in Mukilteo on May 18.
The microphone will be open 6-8 p.m. Thursdays through the summer months at Whidbey Coffee, 619 Fourth St.

Snohomish
Annual plant sale set at high school
The Snohomish Future Farmers of America and Plant Science Classes will hold their annual Spring Spectacular plant sale at the Snohomish High School Greenhouse on the corner of Avenue D and Seventh Street.
The plant sale will start on May 3 and continue through June 2. Open hours are 2-5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
The sale will be closed on Saturday, May 27.
Plants available at the sale are produced by our FFA and Plant Science students in their learning lab. The money raised from this sale will benefit the FFA Horticulture program. For more information, contact Mike Hougan at 360-563-4195.
Stanwood
Senior center’s ‘elegant’ tea party
The Stanwood Community and Senior Center has scheduled “An Elegant Affair” spring tea, hat fashion show and silent auction 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the center, 7430 276th St. NW.
Food will include tea, quiche, scones, sandwiches and a variety of sweets.
The silent auction will feature gift baskets.
Tickets are available for $15 at the center or at Snow Goose Bookstore, 8702 271st St. NW. Tickets will cost $20 at the door.
Proceeds will support the center’s programs.
