Developer buys Bayview Center
The Bayview-based nonprofit, Goosefoot, has finalized a $5.3 million purchase of 8.5 acres of commercial property known as Bayview Center on Highway 525 on Whidbey Island.
The group’s long-term desire is to develop commercial businesses there that share much of the sewer, parking and other public services, to make a smaller environmental and aesthetic impact.
The group has no immediate plans to change the businesses there. Goosefoot will honor the leases of Clover Patch and Associated Grocers’ Red Apple market, both of which expire in 2009.
Blue Star Rockery will be extended a lease on a month-to-month basis.
The business, Copy This, Mail That, will also get a lease until 2009. The status of Casey’s Crafts was unclear, based on information provided by Goosefoot.
