Sewer project to be considered today
The Everett City Council will vote today on whether to authorize Mayor Ray Stephanson to sign a contract with G.G. Excavation Inc. for a $2.6 million sewer system replacement.
The project will replace 1,500 linear feet of a sewage main line that is about 100 years old, as well as about 30 residential side sewer connectors in the northwest area of the Port Gardner neighborhood on Rucker Hill.
The project also includes the construction of about 900 feet of new sewer lines for the Bond Street Control Facility.
Construction on the project is scheduled to begin next month and continue until June.
The council meeting is 6:30 tonight in City Council chambers at 3002 Wetmore Ave. in Everett.

Council to hear hospital rezone request
The Everett City Council is scheduled to hear a request by Providence Everett Medical Center to rezone land for a planned expansion at 6:30 tonight, City Hall, 3002 Wetmore Ave.
