Send-off for retiring assistant city manager
Say farewell to assistant city manager Manny Ocampo, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the city.
The event is 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Lytle House at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9929 NE 180th St.
Ocampo, whose last day on the job is today, started with the city in February 1993. He has served as interim city manager, interim parks and recreation director, and interim public works director.
“I am very proud of what we’ve been able to achieve and am confident what we’ve done has mattered and made a difference in people’s lives,” Ocampo said. “I know it has in mine.”
Ocampo has contributed to community events such as Freedom Festival, Music in the Park and RiverFest and helped develop Cedar Grove Park, Centennial Regional Park and Stipek Park. He also supported the Northshore Performing Arts Center and the University of Washington Bothell Business Development Center.

Group meets today to discuss homelessness
The Snohomish County Housing and Homelessness Policy Oversight Committee meets this morning to discuss plans to end homelessness and increase affordable housing.
The meeting is 8 to 10 a.m. on the first floor of the county administration building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
County Executive Aaron Reardon convened the committee in January to jump-start the effort to improve living conditions for low- and middle-class residents.
The panel plans to discuss the cost of developing housing and the annual “point in time count” of homeless people.
