Lake Stevens: More wetland rules talks
The Lake Stevens City Council is scheduled Tuesday to discuss possible increases in no-build zones around city waterways.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd St. NE.
The City Council last year approved modest increases in the distances from streams, wetlands and the lake in which new construction is allowed. Council members then asked the staff to bring back further increases for consideration.
Tuesday’s meeting is a workshop and no action is planned.

Mukilteo: Farming forum on Tuesday
Discuss and learn about the long-term vision for agriculture in Snohomish County at a community forum planned this week in Mukilteo.
The Snohomish County Agriculture Sustainability Project forum is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave.
The Agriculture Sustainability Project is a community-based initiative created to enhance the county’s agricultural economy as well as preserve local farmlands.
Representatives from the project team plan to answer questions from the public.

Snohomish: Military families get support
The City Council on Tuesday passed a resolution to support a military-family-friendly employment partnership initiative, created by the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The decision was unanimous.
The initiative aims to reduce or eliminate a perceived bias by employers against the hiring of spouses and family members related to people serving in the military services.

Everett: County planners have full agenda on land use
The Snohomish County Planning Commission will discuss new rules on rural housing, tree retention and urban design and also hold a hearing on proposed annual land-use changes during its meeting Tuesday on the first floor of the county administration building, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
The meeting begins at 1 p.m. and discussion items at 2 p.m. The hearing continues at 6:15 p.m. after a dinner break.
