Everett: Elks offer Christmas breakfast
Everett Elks No. 479 offers a public breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday at 2711 Oakes Ave. in Everett. The minimum donation is $8 per person. All profits will be used to help fund the Lodge’s Christmas food basket program for next year.
Past Exalted Ruler Al Greso and his crew will prepare and serve scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, scalloped potatoes, hash browns, sweet rolls and more.
Lake Stevens: Civil service meeting set
A special meeting of the Lake Stevens Civil Service Commission is planned for Jan. 3.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Lake Stevens City Hall Annex, 1812 Main St.
The commission is scheduled to elect a chairperson and vice-chairperson for 2008.
The Civil Service Commission adopts rules and regulations for hiring police officers and hears appeals regarding disciplinary actions.

Mukilteo: Student art show on display
An art show featuring the work of students from Snohomish and King counties is on display in Old Town Mukilteo.
The exhibit can be viewed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday on the upper floor of the Art Building at 724 First St.
The exhibit runs until Jan. 16.
The free art was created by students ranging in age from 4 to 16 years old.

Snohomish: Class set for seniors
The Snohomish Senior Center, in cooperation with the Snohomish Library, is offering a two-session computer class at 9 a.m. on Jan. 16 and 23 at the library, 311 Maple Ave.
The class is for those wanting to learn about surfing the Internet and using e-mail. These two classes are taught by library staff. Space is limited to eight people for these two sessions.
