Everett: Riverside meeting on Tuesday
The Riverside NeighÂborÂhood Association is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at North Middle School library, 2514 Rainier Ave. The group will review the latest crime report from the Everett Police Department, see a presentation on “home excellence,” learn about the Oct. 13 neighborhood cleanup and go over the Garfield Park Master Plan.

Garden club plans workshop on bulbs
The Everett Garden Club is planning a free workshop at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Community Church, 710 Pecks Drive. Club members will talk about planting and caring for bulbs in the garden. The event is free and open to everyone. Coffee and tea will be available. People can also learn about club membership. Members are scheduled to meet before the workshop at 10 a.m.

Mukilteo: Crossings to get flashing lights
Flashing lights could be installed at three intersections near school zones on Harbour Pointe Boulevard by the end of the year, Mukilteo public works director Larry Waters said.
One of the flashing lights would be installed at the intersection of Double Eagle Drive, near Endeavor Elementary School. The other two would be installed at 107th Street SW and 108th Place SW, near Kamiak High School and Columbia Elementary School.
The city would pay for the new lights using funds from a $180,000 account for pedestrian safety improvements, Waters said.
The new lights were recommended by the city’s Public Safety Committee.
Snohomish: Center holds driving class
The Snohomish Senior Center plans to sponsor AARP’s Driver’s Safety Class from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 and 23 at the Snohomish Fire and Rescue Station, 1525 Ave. D.
This driver safety program teaches defensive-driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road. Graduates receive a certificate that can be used to request a reduction in their auto insurance premiums.
Cost is $10 for the two-day class; all materials are supplied.
