Camano Island: Learn about parks
Learn about Camano Island parks, preserves and trails at a presentation scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 E. Camano Drive.
Carol Triplet, of Friends of Camano Island Parks, plans to provide information about the opportunities for exploring the island’s parks. Trail booklets highlighting trails on the island are expected to be available for a $1 donation.

The City Council is scheduled to discuss proposed changes to the city’s Comprehensive Plan at a City Council workshop today.
The meeting is open, but is not a public hearing, so comments will not be accepted.
Public hearings on the proposed changes are scheduled for Oct. 22.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave.

Stanwood: Celebrate Beckman’s retirement
A retirement party for City Administrator Bill Beckman is scheduled for 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stanwood Fire Station, 8117 267th Street NW.
Beckman has worked for the city for 21 years. Everyone is welcome.
