Arlington

Library advisers to meet

The Arlington Library’s teen advisory board is scheduled to meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday. The group advises library staff on teen issues, including programing.

Youth who have ideas on how to make the library a better place for teens are invited to attend.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in the Arlington Library, 135 N. Washington Ave.

Easter Egg hunt planned

Children between the ages of 1 and 12 are invited to hunt for Easter eggs at the Arlington Airport on March 22.

Hunts are planned for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Prizes, hot drinks and cookies are planned. Kids should bring their own Easter baskets. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos, so parents may want to bring their cameras. Parking is available off 51st Avenue NE in the grass field.

The event is sponsored by Arlington Firefighters Local 3728 and the City of Arlington.

Commission considers hospital project

The Arlington Planning Commission plans to consider a proposal by Cascade Valley Hospital to build a two-story, 40,000-square-foot building as an addition to the existing hospital complex. The site is at 330 S. Stillaguamish Ave. and is zoned medical services.

The project needs design review approval from the commission.

The meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St.

Camano Island

Discuss orca history

Learn the natural history of orca whales at a presentation being planned by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project and Friends of Camano Island Parks.

The presentation is 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center at 141 N. East Camano Drive.

The presentation is also expected to explain how water quality affects the local orca population. The presentation is part of the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project’s monthly education series.

Island County

County’s regulations for wetlands up for review

The county’s regulations on development near wetland areas are expected to be discussed at the next Island County Board of Commissioners meeting. The meeting is 10 a.m. Monday at the Island County Annex Building, 1 NE Sixth St., Coupeville.

The county planning commission has recommended modifying some policies on wetland protection. The proposed changes deal with development densities and prohibiting new lots made up of wetlands.

Marysville

Benefit garage sale set

A three-day garage sale is planned for March 28-30 in Marysville to raise money for cancer treatment for Everett resident Lesley Meyer.

The sale is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days at 5330 85th Place NE, Marysville.

Meyer is undergoing radiation treatment, will need chemotherapy and has limited insurance, said Sheri Hammer, his sister-in-law.

Register now for softball

Registration has begun for the city of Marysville’s spring softball leagues.

Registration is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through April 4 at the Parks and Recreation office at Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road. The cost per team is $710 for men’s divisions and weeknight coed, and $620 for Sunday co-ed. Games are scheduled to begin the week of April 20.
