Artifacts on agenda
The Arlington City Council plans to discuss artifacts found at the proposed storm-water wetland site at a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Other items on the agenda include public art, the city’s comprehensive sewer plan and an office remodel at the municipal airport.
The meeting will be held in Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St.

City meetings canceled
Two city meetings that were scheduled for Thursday have been canceled. The Arlington Planning Commission and the Arlington Library Board have both canceled their meetings.

Camano Island
Sheriff’s Office warns of posting Web info
Learn about the dangers of posting personal information on Web sites such as Myspace.com during a class planned by the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
The class is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Camano Community and Senior Center at 606 Arrowhead Road.
During the class, Island County sheriff’s detective Ed Wallace plans to show how easy it is to find information on people, even from seemingly harmless details.

Marysville
City Hall to open late today; closed on Monday
Marysville City Hall is scheduled to open at 9:30 a.m. today, 1½ hours later than usual.
The late opening time is due to Mayor Dennis Kendall’s state-of-the-city address to city employees at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in the morning.
Also, City Hall will be closed Monday due to the President’s Day holiday. City Hall is at 1049 State Ave.

Church has fundraiser mini-golf tourney
A creative mini-golf tournament to raise money for a student trip to California is scheduled for Feb. 23.
The event is planned for 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215 51st Ave. NE, Marysville.
The proceeds of $5 per person and $15 per family go to send Bethlehem youth on a summer mission trip to California.
Food and child care will be available. Church members have designed a fun 18-hole course that traverses the church.

Stanwood
Improve nonprofits and organizations
A workshop geared to strengthen community organizations and nonprofits is being planned by the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation.
The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Stanwood Fire Department, at the intersection of Highway 532 and Pioneer Highway. The cost is $75 per person.
Susan Howlett, an area resident and nationally known speaker, plans to talk about how to strengthen governing boards and fundraisers. Several community and city officials are already planning to attend.

Space remains available for Snow Goose Festival
Groups, retailers and artists can still rent space at this year’s Port Susan Snow Goose and Birding Festival.
The festival is scheduled for Feb. 23 and 24 at 27108 102nd Ave. NW. The two-day event is planned to feature bird watching, displays, art exhibits and more.

Tulalip
Director named for child support program
The Tulalip Tribes have named Wendy Church as director for the tribal child support program. The program is scheduled to begin handling all tribal child support enforcement cases by the end of the year instead of turning those cases over to state child welfare authorities.
New housing employees
Norma Razote has been appointed as the Tulalip Tribes Housing Department’s finance coordinator. She will implement the department’s budget and manage grant programs.
Dorothy “Topo” Jones has been appointed as the department’s tenant service specialist. Jones will work with homebuyers and tenants. Deloris “DeeDee” Parks has been named the department’s tenant services housing clerk. Parks will manage housing waiting lists.
Discuss tribal issues
Tulalip tribal members will continue to meet each Monday and Thursday in the tribal Housing Department’s conference room to discuss issues facing the tribes.
The meetings begin at 7 p.m. each day at 3107 Reuben Shelton Drive in Tulalip.
