Arlington: City holds surplus auction
The city of Arlington is accepting bids for around 20 surplus items the Public Works Department is auctioning off. The items include a fertilizer spreader, a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria and a dump trunk.
Prospective bidders are invited to inspect the equipment from 8 a.m. to noon today and Saturday at the public works maintenance and operations yard, 6111 188th St. NE.
The deadline to submit sealed bids to the city clerk’s office is 3 p.m. Monday.

Marysville: Natural materials used in art
A show celebrating Artistry in Nature is scheduled for today and Saturday at the Ken Baxter Community-Senior Center.
The show is planned for 5 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the center, 514 Delta Ave. in Comeford Park.
The show features art created with natural materials by students from the senior center’s classes in gourd decorating, driftwood sculpture and woodcarving.
Appetizers, sparkling cider and music are planned for today.

Stanwood: Celebrate Oktoberfest at center
The Stanwood Community and Senior Center is planning an Oktoberfest celebration for 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 19, at the center.
Food and live music are planned.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids.
Tickets are available at the Stanwood Community and Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW. Tickets are also expected to be available at the door on the day of the event.
