10th Legislative District: Attend town hall meetings

State Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen plans to talk about the legislative session and hear concerns from constituents from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday during a town hall meeting at the Camano Community and Senior Center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

Haugen also plans to host a similar meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, 90 N. Alexander St.

Meanwhile, state Rep. Norma Smith plans to be in her district office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at 22 Front St. NW, Suite C, in Coupeville.

Smith and fellow 10th District Rep. Barbara Bailey plan to host three town hall meetings on March 19: 9:30 a.m., Stanwood-Camano school board room, 26920 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood; 1 p.m., Oak Hall Room 36, Skagit Valley College, 1900 SE Pioneer Way, Oak Harbor; and 3:30 p.m., Freeland Hall, 1515 Shoreview Drive, Freeland.

Arlington: Koster to host blood drive

Snohomish County Councilman John Koster plans to host a blood drive Wednesday for the Puget Sound Blood Center. Blood bank supplies are typically lower in winter months, Koster said.

The drive is set for 12:30 to 6:30 p.m., third-floor banquet room, Medallion Hotel, 16710 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.

Granite Falls: School budget forums

The Granite Falls School District plans to host community forums March 23 and 24 to discuss the district’s budget.

The meetings are scheduled for 6 p.m., Mountain Way Elementary, 702 N. Granite Ave.

An overview of the district’s budget and a review of funding priorities established over the past two years are set to be part of the discussion along with information on what is expected for the 2011-2012 school year.

The city of Granite Falls is looking for volunteers to serve on the city’s Parks Board.

Marysville: Have coffee with the mayor

Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring plans to meet with residents for coffee and conversation March 22.

The kaffeklatsch, scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m., is part of an occasional series of informal chat sessions held in the Council Chambers of Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave.
