Darrington: Library expansion planned
A meeting about a planned remodel of the Darrington Library is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at the library, 1005 Cascade St.
The remodel involves adding a meeting room, teen area and expanded staff areas.
At the meeting, floor plans and conceptual drawings are expected to be available to view.
The Darrington Library Board, SHKS Architects of Seattle and Sno-Isle Libraries staff are hosting the event.
Everyone is invited to ask questions and share comments on the plan.

Marysville: Help with utility bills available
The city of Marysville is offering help with utility taxes to low-income seniors and the disabled.
Anyone in those groups who receives water, sewer, garbage or surface water management service from the city may be eligible for a 30 percent discount on their bill.
To qualify, senior ratepayers must be at least 62 years old with an annual total household income of less than $25,000. A disabled resident’s income must be at or below 125 percent of the established federal poverty level, and meet other criteria that deem them disabled or incapacitated.

Silvana: Forest care classes begin Jan. 28
Classes on forest stewardship designed to help forest landowners are scheduled to begin Jan. 28 in Silvana.
The course includes nine Monday evening presentations and a Saturday field day.
Participants receive a forest stewardship notebook, educational reference materials, maps and aerial photos of their property and an individual on-site consultation from a professional forester or wildlife biologist.
The Washington State University Extension and the state Department of Natural Resources are offering the course.
A spring class is planned for Thursday evenings in Burlington.
Tuition is $150 per family or ownership and includes all course materials.
Class size is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tulalip: Port Susan club needs board members
Interested residents of Port Susan Camping Club should apply to run for a spot on the club’s Board of Directors. Five positions are open and elections will be held in May. To run, submit a letter of interest of 285 words or less and a resume to the administration office by 3 p.m. Feb. 2.
