Bothell: Mayor, deputy mayor re-elected
Bothell Mayor Mark Lamb and Deputy Mayor Sandy Guinn were re-elected to their positions at the year’s first City Council meeting.
Their new two-year terms are set to expire Dec. 31, 2009.
“I’m honored to be re-elected as city of Bothell Mayor and thank my fellow council members for this opportunity,” said Lamb, who has served as mayor since 2006.
Lamb, an attorney, has been on the City Council since 2004. He also sits on the city’s committees for public safety, community outreach and economic development.
Guinn, a City Council member since 1998, has been deputy mayor since 2006. She serves on the city’s committees for economic development and human services, as well as the city’s Brightwater Committee. She is a senior administrative assistant with the city of Woodinville.

Monroe: People can learn about police
The Monroe Police Department plans a citizens academy in February. The eight-week course teaches Monroe residents about how their police department works.
Classes include information on identity theft, Internet safety, domestic violence, child abuse and many other topics.
The academy begins Feb. 5. Applications may be picked up at the front counter of the Monroe Police Department, 818 W. Main St.

Mountlake Terrace: Chat with city manager
Residents are invited to chat with Mountlake Terrace city manager John Caulfield during Coffee with the City, a series of monthly conversational meetings.
A meeting is set for 8 a.m. today at the Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW. Free coffee is provided. All questions about city events, issues, programs and services are welcome.
