Bothell: Open house for road project
An open house to educate people about the Bothell connector project is being planned for next week.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the IUOE Building at 18701 120th Ave. NE in Bothell. The project calls for 39th Avenue SE to be extended between 228th Street SE and 240th Street SE.

Learn how to read credit card applications, financial statements and more at an event being planned for the Lynnwood Library.
The event, New Americans and the Money Maze, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the library at 19200 44th Ave. W. The discussion is expected to be led by Andrea Misiano of Consumer Counseling Northwest.

Mill Creek: Learn to draw comics
Teens can learn to draw comics in the manga style at a one-hour workshop being planned for the Mill Creek Library.
The workshop is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at the library at 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway. The program is free, and no registration is required.
Manga is a type of comic that originated in Japan.

Monroe: Scary movie night features ‘Psycho’
The Monroe Arts Council and Galaxy Theatres are set to offer Classic Scary Movie Night at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the Galaxy Theatre, One Galaxy Way. The featured movie is Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar Award winning 1960 classic horror film, “Psycho,” starring Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh.
Admission is $5. Tickets will be on sale in the theater lobby from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Oct 27 and Oct 29.
People can support this event by joining Monroe Arts Council. Annual membership is $25.
By joining the council, people can receive a free movie pass to “Psycho” and a coupon for a free bag of popcorn.

Mountlake Terrace: New sidewalks, ramps
Work is under way to provide new sidewalks and sidewalk ramps in the Cedar Terrace neighborhood, an area bounded by 230th Place SW, 233rd Street SW, 48th Avenue W. and Cedar Way.
The goal of the project is to build a continuous sidewalk connecting Cedar Way, bus stops and the Cedar Plaza shopping area. The project is also expected to bring neighborhood sidewalks in the area into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
There may be road closures in the Cedar Terrace neighborhood during part of the project.
