Bothell: Council to hear presentation
A coalition of public and private groups that focuses on economic growth is planning to give a presentation at today’s meeting of the Bothell City Council.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bothell Municipal Court at 10116 NE 183rd St.
The Prosperity Partnership is a coalition of more than 200 government, business, labor and community organizations from King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties. The goal of the coalition is to plan for long-term economic stability and to create 100,000 new jobs in the region.
Edmonds: Biodiesel agreement on table
An agreement that would allow the city of North Bend to dispose of biosolids at the city of Edmonds’ wastewater treatment plant could be approved today by the Edmonds City Council.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. today in the council chambers at the Public Safety Complex at 250 Fifth Ave. N.
Under the agreement, North Bend would be charged 25 cents per dry pound of biosolids it brings to the plant. The agreement also lists several provisions, including the route that trucks from North Bend must use to get to the treatment plant.
The city has had previous agreements with North Bend for the disposal of biosolids at the Edmonds plant. The most recent agreement expired in December 2006.
Monroe: Meeting set on city budget
The City Council is set have a special meeting on the city’s 2008 budget at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at City Hall, 806 W. Main St.
City officials explain to people about basics and highlights of the proposed budget, including revenue projections in 2008. The city plans to hold a public hearing later and adopt the budget in December.
