Bothell: Home buyer seminar planned

A seminar for first-time home buyers is being planned for this weekend at the Bothell Public Library.

The seminar is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the library, 18215 98th Ave. NE.

Mortgage banker and broker Danny Forbes of Golf Savings Bank is scheduled to lead the seminar.

Edmonds: Hearing on redevelopment

A public meeting about the redevelopment of the Harbor Square and Antique Mall area of the Edmonds waterfront is planned for tonight at City Hall.

The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Brackett Room on the third floor of Edmonds City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N.

During the meeting, an architect is planning to present a refined plan of what the redevelopment could look like. The plan has been sculpted using input from previous public meetings.

More public meetings are being planned for November.

Mill Creek: Lunch and bazaar for charity

A luncheon and bazaar to raise money for Mill Creek Christian Women’s Connection is being planned for early November at the Mill Creek Country Club.

The event, Blue Ribbon Bonanza, is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the club at 15500 Country Club Drive. A silent auction is also being planned for the event.

The cost of admission is $18. Reservations and cancellations are required by Nov. 6.

Monroe: Seniors’ gala auction Saturday

The East County Senior Center is set to hold its annual fundraising gala auction at 5 p.m. Saturday at Echo Falls Golf and Country Club, 20414 121st Ave. SE, Snohomish. Tickets are $50 per person and include dinner.

More than 300 items were auctioned last year including a one-week cruise, golf vacations with preferred tee times, landscaping materials and service, and select pieces from local artists. For the 2007 auction, the center already has acquired an African safari, seven days at a Wapato resort, trapshooting lessons and golf opportunities.

The auction is the center’s primary fundraiser for the year to help serve its 900 members and their guests.

Mountlake Terrace: Transportation plans

A public hearing about two long-term plans for transportation improvements in Mountlake Terrace has been moved from Monday to Tuesday.

The hearing is planned for the Mountlake Terrace Planning Commission meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 23204 58th Ave. W.

The city’s Transportation Master Plan and Transportation Improvement Program address traffic, sidewalks, bike routes, street standards, transit connections and other transportation issues.

The City Council is planning a Nov. 5 public hearing for the two plans.
