Edmonds: Electric-car outlet approved
An electrical outlet to charge electric cars may soon be installed in the parking lot outside the city’s Public Safety Complex.
Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson and city staff are recommending the City Council vote in favor of the outlet.
People who use the space would pay $1.50 an hour at a meter.
The City Council, which reviewed the plan in a work session earlier this week, would need to adopt an ordinance to make the parking fee official.
Installing the outlet and meter would cost about $5,000 from the city’s general fund.
