Overpass jumper blocked northbound I-5 in north Seattle

SEATTLE — A person who jumped off an overpass was struck and killed on I-5 in north Seattle, the Washington State Patrol said.

Police said several cars were then involved in a collision just before 6 a.m. Friday near Northgate mall.

The collisions and investigation blocked the northbound lanes and also restricted the southbound traffic heading into Seattle in the morning rush hour.

Officers lanes were reopened around 8 a.m.
