MARYSVILLE — Part of Comeford Park is to be closed starting Friday so workers can repair the water tower there.
Crews plan to replace corroded sections of the water tower catwalk. The sidewalk, parking spots and playground in the northeast corner of the park will not be accessible.
Demolition work is scheduled at the park Monday and Tuesday, and Nov. 11 through 13. Dates could change depending on the weather.
Once the work is finished, the city can install holiday lights again. Last year they were not strung because of the damage.
“This work will allow the city to bring back the cherished tradition of lighting the beloved water tower for the Christmas holidays,” Mayor Jon Nehring said in a statement.
