MARYSVILLE — Part of State Avenue is scheduled to be closed for construction starting Monday.
Northbound lanes between 100th and 104th streets will be inaccessible until Jan. 24. Construction is set to happen at all hours, according to the city.
Drivers will be guided through a 3.4-mile detour and should expect to add 15 minutes to commutes. The detour will divert northbound traffic from State Avenue to Shoultes Road, to 51st Avenue NE, to 136th Street NE, and back to Smokey Point Boulevard, which turns into State Avenue.
Businesses will remain open during construction. Crews plan to install deep sewer lines north and south of the new bridge over Quilceda Creek. Eventually, the road will be five lanes wide and include a curb, gutter, sidewalk and street lighting.
