GOLD BAR — A driver hit and killed a man walking Friday on the shoulder of U.S. 2, according to police.
Martin Milburn, 60, of Sultan, was walking around 6 p.m. on the shoulder of the westbound lane of U.S. 2 in Gold Bar near the Skykomish River, according to the Washington State Patrol. A Gold Bar man was driving west in a 2005 Ford Escape when his car reportedly struck Milburn.
The Sultan man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
The driver, 49, was arrested that night and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.
