MARYSVILLE — Railroad officials say a freight train struck and killed a pedestrian on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks near Marysville late Saturday night.
Railroad spokesman Gus Melonas says the male was hit by the northbound train about two miles north of Marysville at a non-railroad crossing about 10 p.m.
Melonas says officials still don’t know anything about the victim except that he was a male.
He says it was the third train fatality in the Seattle area in the past eight days. Melonas urged people to be careful and remember that trains can move on any track in any direction at any time.
