EVERETT — The man struck and killed while crossing Highway 99 south of Everett Wednesday has been identified as Mickey Dean Bowen.
Witnesses told troopers the Everett man, 71, was trying to cross the highway as traffic approached but tripped and fell in the roadway. He was not in a crosswalk.
The accident was reported just before 4:30 p.m. north of Lincoln Way, said trooper Keith Leary with the Washington State Patrol.
He was struck by an Everett man, 30, driving a Honda Accord. The Everett driver tried to avoid the pedestrian in the roadway, Leary said.
