ARLINGTON — A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Friday in a crash in Arlington.
The woman was struck by a Volkswagen car in a crosswalk around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of 204th Street NE and 77th Avenue NE, said Kristin Banfield, a city spokeswoman.
Aid crews considered calling in a helicopter to airlift the patient, but ended up rushing her by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Police shut down the road near a Safeway for four hours for an investigation.
The driver remained at the scene, cooperating with investigators, Banfield said.
The pedestrian’s age and hometown were not made public as of Friday evening.
