STANWOOD — A man walking on I-5 north of Stanwood, in Snohomish County near the Skagit County line, was struck by two cars and killed Tuesday evening.
The Washington State Patrol said the 37-year-old man was walking northbound on the freeway at about 9 p.m. when a Honda Civic driven by a 36-year-old Mount Vernon man struck hit him. He was knocked into the next lane, where he was hit again by a Toyota Camry driven by a 68-year-old Mount Vernon man.
The pedestrian, whose identity was not released pending family notification, reportedly died at the scene. Neither driver was seriously injured, and no charges were recommended by the State Patrol.
