SAMMAMISH, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed when she tried to cross Interstate 90 near Sammamish during Wednesday’s morning commute.
Trooper Chris Webb says the woman apparently witnessed a crash in the left shoulder of the westbound lanes of I-90.
He says she pulled her semi-truck over to the right shoulder and tried to cross the freeway to get to the shoulder of the left lane. She was struck and killed in the HOV lane.
Webb says he’s not sure what she was doing or why.
The crash backed up traffic for a couple of hours.
