STANWOOD — A pedestrian suffered critical injuries when he was struck by a car Monday evening south of Stanwood, according to the North County Regional Fire Authority.
The crash was reported around 6 p.m. in the 2400 block of Marine Drive. The man had been walking in the dark near Warm Beach, said Assistant Fire Chief Don Bartlett.
A medical airlift helicopter happened to be in the sky nearby, and flew in to rendezvous with an ambulance at a fire station about six miles south of Stanwood.
The man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
