TACOMA — The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been run over and killed while trying to stop a thief from taking his brother’s pickup truck south of Tacoma.
Spokesman Ed Troyer says a witness reported that the victim was run over twice. Troyer says the suspect will likely face a homicide charge.
The truck’s owner and his brother were loading the truck with the engine running before 7 a.m. today when the suspect approached and had a confrontation with the brother.
Troyer says the thief jumped in the truck and ran over the man. He died at a hospital of his injuries.
Police are looking for a white 1998 Dodge Ram pickup with 20-inch chrome wheels and Washington license B61070G.
