EVERETT — A man wanted for investigation of a double murder in University Place was booked into jail early Friday in Snohomish County.
Wilberth Acala, 22, and Adrian Valencia-Cuevas, 19, were found dead from gunshots to the head around 5:30 a.m. on May 14 in a car, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives suspected the shooters had fired from the back seat.
The sheriff’s office had asked for the public’s help to identify two men, based on security video showing them fleeing the scene.
One suspected shooter, 21, was arrested in early June.
The second shooting suspect was caught coming out of a business in Snohomish County, said Pierce County detective Ed Troyer. He was arrested with the help of local sheriff’s deputies. They booked him into the Snohomish County Jail just after midnight Friday for investigation of two counts of second-degree murder. He’s expected to be transferred to Pierce County in coming days.
