PUYALLUP — Pierce County deputies wounded a suspect after they chased a stolen pickup truck into a dead-end early today near Puyallup.
Sgt. Jerry Bates told KOMO Radio two deputies were standing behind their car doors when it was rammed by the suspect driver. That knocked down one deputy. The other deputy fired a shot at the pickup.
Sgt. Ed Troyer told KIRO Radio the suspect was wounded but was able to try to run away. He was caught by a police dog.
The 22-year-old is now in custody and being treated for the gunshot wound and dog bites.
No deputies were injured.
