SNOHOMISH — The pilot of a small plane that flipped Thursday near Harvey Field was not seriously injured.
Snohomish firefighters arrived on scene just after 3:30 p.m. and found the man, 72, standing outside the plane.
He told them that he’d left the airfield and reached about 2,000 feet when something seemed amiss with the plane, Snohomish Fire Battalion Chief Bruce Keaton said.
The pilot turned back toward Harvey Field but decided he needed to land the plane immediately.
He spotted a field south of the airport and touched down. The nose of the plane hit some mud and the aircraft flipped.
The man sustained some minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
