PORTLAND, Ore. — The plastic bag ban went into effect over the weekend in Portland, Ore.
KGW reports shoppers at major drug and grocery stores are encouraged to bring reusable bags. Paper bags also are still available.
Mayor Sam Adams is asking shoppers who are unhappy with the change not to be grumpy with cashiers.
