WOODWAY — A developer seeking permits to build more than 3,000 waterfront condos in towers reaching up to 180 feet tall made its case to the Snohomish County hearing examiner on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the first day in a long-awaited hearing over the project’s fate. BSRE Point Wells wants more time to refine plans for the condo community on what’s now industrial land next to Woodway.
County planners, however, have asked hearing examiner Peter Camp to deny the application, saying that time has expired to answer numerous questions about building heights, traffic and more.
Camp could deny the project or grant BSRE more time to address the county’s concerns.
The hearing is set to continue Thursday with a county presentation at 9 a.m. Public testimony is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. and continue in the evening.
