EVERETT — Two men were shot Wednesday night in central Everett in an apparent home invasion.
A woman had been in her home in the 2000 block of Columbia Avenue with her small child when several men forced their way in around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Everett police officer Kerby Duncan said.
Two of the home’s residents returned from the grocery store, leading to a confrontation. The two men returning were allegedly shot, Duncan said. One suffered a gunshot wound to the leg; the other to the shoulder. Their injuries were not life-threatening and they were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Officers tried to track the suspects with a police dog, but were unsuccessful. Everett detectives continued to investigate Thursday, Duncan said. No arrests had been made.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and so there is no danger to the general public, Duncan said.
