SNOHOMISH — Police on Wednesday closed down an apartment complex to traffic in Snohomish before arresting a man for investigation of vehicle theft.
The man in his early 20s was arrested near the 600 block of Pine Avenue in Snohomish.
Officers from Snohomish, Lake Stevens and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office were involved with tracking him down.
The man was a suspect in the theft of a car that was stolen from the 1400 block of 128th Ave NE, Lake Stevens Sgt. Ron Brooks said.
Sheriffs deputies discovered the car off the OK Mill Road around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Parts had been removed from the car.
Officers were led to a home within a short walking distance of the car where they believed the man might be hiding.
As they were conducting surveillance, a motorcycle took off from the neighborhood and disappeared on the Machias Road, Brooks said.
Later, Snohomish police spotted the motorcycle, also believed to be stolen, at the apartment complex.
Police made contact with the suspect and he surrendered without incident.
