Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent crime news provided by police:
Lake Stevens
* 3000 block of Callow Road, Aug. 22. Officers pulled over a car for an obstructed license plate. A man got out of the car and fled. Police caught the man, who had a suspended license. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license and obstructing an officer.
* 12500 block of 18th Street NE, Aug. 23. A 66-year-old woman reported identity theft. A collection agency had contacted her for large amounts of money for unpaid cellular telephone bills. She said she had never purchased a cell phone and had never given anyone else permission to do so. An investigation continues.
* 3000 block of 99th Avenue NE, Aug. 24. Officers responded to a suspicious-person complaint of a man trying to break into a home. They found the man, who appeared to be drunk and was carrying a knife. He was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol and in possession of a dangerous weapon.
