MARYSVILLE — Police arrested a 39-year-old Everett man Saturday night after a chase through Marysville and into Smokey Point.
Officers spotted a stolen vehicle near the intersection of 4th Street and State Avenue in Marysville around 7 p.m., Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. When they tried to get the driver to pull over, he took off down State and officers pursued. At one point, the suspect’s car was going about 80 mph, Lamoureux said.
Officers laid out spikes at the north end of Marysville to stop the vehicle, he said. After driving over the spikes, the driver finally was forced to stop on Smokey Point Blvd. near the River Rock Smoke Shop.
The driver surrendered to police without incident, Lamoureux said. The county sheriff’s office assisted with the arrest.
The car had been reported stolen out of Bellevue.
Police declined to release the driver’s name Sunday afternoon.
